The Shelby Township logo is a representation of the community’s values and priorities. At its center, a white interior circle symbolizes its residents' peace of mind and safety provided by the Shelby Township Police and Fire Departments. Surrounding this is a green exterior circle, signifying the fiscal stewardship of the Township Board of Trustees, who ensure that taxes and fees remain as low as possible for residents and taxpayers.

Dominating the center is a vibrant green tree, an artistic representation of one of Shelby Township’s oldest residents—a 250-year-old White Oak that stands in Curtis Cemetery near 25 Mile and Shelby Roads. This tree symbolizes Shelby Township's rich heritage and unwavering commitment to preserving its green spaces and natural resources. Completing the design is a steel silver ribbon prominently displaying “Shelby Township”, symbolizing the township’s legacy in Metro Detroit’s industry—from its historic role at the Packard Proving Grounds to its modern status as a leader in advanced manufacturing.

The Shelby Township Flag proudly showcases this logo on a field of white, emphasizing the township’s spirit of peace, prosperity, and patriotism. Whether flying at township buildings or during official ceremonies, the flag serves as a reminder of Shelby Township’s dedication to safety, fiscal responsibility, environmental stewardship, and industrial excellence.
