Software Transition Coming Soon!
Parks and Rec. will soon be transitioning to a new software system known as Dash. This changeover will take place in Sept. Over time, we expect to be able to offer some online registration for those who are interested!
Current members will be transitioned into our new system. We will need to re-take all photos and re-issue key tags. Additionally, we will need to re-enter emergency contacts for everyone, so please bring your emergency contact information with you when you come to the Senior Center in Oct.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to sharing our fantastic new system with you all very soon!
The Shelby Township Senior Center has a wide variety of activities for adults age 50 and older in order to help keep our residents mentally, physically and socially healthy.
You must register as a member of the Shelby Township Senior Center every year to participate in our events and activities. The cost is $5 for residents of Shelby Township and Utica or $10 for non-residents. Membership is required for all programs.
Our services include transportation, a free community loan closet for medical equipment, mental stimulation with puzzles and brain teasers, physical activity and organizations to promote socialization. All of these serve to benefit the lives of our residents.
Members must register annually for the Shelby Township Senior Center to participate in events and activities. The cost is $5 for Shelby Township and Utica residents or $10 for nonresidents.
You can register by visiting the senior center front desk located in the Shelby Township Activities Center at 14975 21 Mile Road.
Programs put on the Parks and Rec department after 5 p.m. typically do not require senior center membership.

Too many of our older and disabled neighbors are lonely and isolated. They long for just a brief visit now and then from someone who will take the time to sit and chat. Other families in our community are struggling to take care of a loved one at home. For these full-time caregivers, a break to run errands, go to their own doctor’s appointments or just relax for an hour is often impossible because their parent
or spouse cannot be left alone.
If you have a few hours, once or twice a month, to visit or just sit with an older or disabled adult, your gift of time will make a huge difference for our lonely and struggling neighbors. No hands-on or nursing experience is needed.
For more information, call the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers at 586-757-5551.
The Lounge
Stop in and visit the lounge any time the center is open. Enjoy a cup of coffee, visit with friends, play a board game, help build a puzzle or watch some television. We also have magazine subscriptions. Feel free to take, borrow or leave a book in our Book Nook. No matter what you do, our lounge is a great place to be.
