Christmas and New Year's holidays office closure, Priority Waste service delays

In observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays, Shelby Township's municipal offices and the office for the Shelby Township Department of Public Works are closed Dec. 24-Jan. 4. All offices reopen with regular hours of operation Jan. 5. See the list below for specific department hours and re-openings.

Below is a list of holiday hours for the 41 A District Court, the Shelby Township Library, the Shelby Township Activities Center, the Shelby Township Senior Center and the Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center. While the activities center is open for programming, the Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department offices will be closed Dec. 24-Jan. 4.

Freedom of Information Act Requests submitted during this time will not be processed until the municipal offices reopen. A timely response to your request is very important to us and you will be notified of the status of your request as soon as possible. 

Dial 911 for emergency services from the Shelby Township Police Department and Shelby Township Fire Department. For emergency water and sewer service calls, dial 586-731-2121 and the police department will contact DPW personnel. For non-emergency calls, contact the police department at 586-731-2121.

Christmas tree pick-up begins Dec. 26. Residents should cut trees over 7 feet in half before placing them at the curb. There is no Priority Waste collection on Christmas, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. Waste collection will be delayed one day those weeks.
