SHELBY TWP CLEAN UP DAY

Saturday, April 25, 2020
Please note a new location for Clean-Up Day!
Shelby Activities Center 14975 21 Mile Rd, Shelby Charter Twp, MI 48315

The Shelby Township Beautification Committee is looking for volunteers and groups that are willing to adopt portions of Shelby Township roadways as part of the 2020 Shelby Township Clean-Up Day approaches.

Join hundreds of volunteers for this 30 plus-year tradition as we work to remove litter from Shelby Township roadways before enjoying a complimentary pizza and beverage lunch and the perennially beloved "Weirdest Thing Found" contest.

There are sections of roads available for adoption, and the Macomb County Department of Roads will install an "Adopt-A-County Road" sign to recognize a specific group's or organization's commitment to keeping the township beautiful. If you or your family, business, church, scout group, or organization would like to be an adopter, call the Shelby Township Clerk's Office at 586-731-5102, email clerk@shelbytwp.org or visit adoptaroad.macombgov.org.

Walk-in registration for Clean-Up Day is available between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Clean-Up Day, April 25th, at the Shelby Township Activities Center located at 14975 21 Mile Rd, Shelby Charter Twp, MI 48315. Volunteers receive speed packets of cosmos flowers and a certificate of appreciation for their group. For more information, please contact the Shelby Township Clerk at 586-731-5102 before Clean-Up Day.
Registration Requires:
1)   Sign List of Safety Video viewed
2)   Receive safety vests and litter bags
3)   Receive your road assignment

Shelby Township Clean-Up Day, which has been sponsored by the Beautification Committee for nearly 30 years, features boys and girls groups, leaders, parents, civic and business groups as well as walk-in residents working to keep Township streets and roads clean and clear of litter.

Following clean-up, hard-working volunteers celebrate with pizza and pop and the perennially beloved ‘weirdest thing found’ contest.  Participants receive seed packets of cosmos flowers and a certificate of appreciation for their group. Many thanks go out to all involved, especially the Parks and Recreation Department, the Shelby Township Gardeners Club, Shelby TV and the Clerk’s Office. For more information, contact the Shelby Township Clerk at (586) 731-5102.
