Shelby Township is hosting a Spring Food Pantry Donation Drive from March 17 through April 10 to support our neighbors in need through the Lakepointe Pantry located at 48571 Van Dyke Ave.
Donations can be dropped off at the following Shelby Township facilities:
- Shelby Township Activities Center – 14975 21 Mile Road
- Shelby Township Hall – 52700 Van Dyke Ave.
- Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center – 4101 River Bends Drive
All donations will benefit the Lakepointe Pantry, which is administered by Lakepointe Church at 53245 Van Dyke Ave. in Shelby Township.
This collection will support two important programs that help local families:
“Spice Up the Pantry”
This program collects essential kitchen staples that are often missing from traditional food drives. Requested items include: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, barbecue sauce, salad dressing, cooking oil, spices, flour and sugar.
“Birthday in a Bag”
This program helps ensure every child can celebrate their birthday. Donations will be used to assemble birthday kits for families served by the pantry. Suggested items include:
non-gender-specific candles, plates, napkins, balloons, gift bags, cake mix, frosting, blank birthday cards and disposable aluminum baking pans.
The pantry collects these individual items and assembles complete birthday kits to distribute to families, helping make children’s birthdays extra special.
Your support can make a meaningful difference for families in our community. If you’re able, please consider adding a few items to your shopping list and dropping them off during the drive.
