Presented by the Shelby Township Downtown Development Authority (DDA), the 2018 Shelby Township Independence Day Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. July 3.  

The fireworks will be visible throughout the Shelby Township DDA Van Dyke corridor. The Packard Proving Grounds will be hosting a Fireworks Festival including live entertainment, kids activities, concessions and shopping at 49965 Van Dyke Ave. The township will host families at Ford Field Park at 7460 23 Mile Road.

The Packard Proving Grounds Historic Site is rich in metro Detroit’s automotive history. Established in 1927 by The Packard Motor Car Company, this unique site hosts multiple Albert Kahn designed buildings, located on 14 acres. The proving grounds are home to the Shelby Township Farmer's Market and is a lovely venue for weddings, car shows, plus corporate & social events. Proceeds go to the Packard Motor Car Foundation and help with the restoration of the grounds. For more information visit  ppg
