Food Truck / Vendor Guidelines
Please read the following before submitting a food truck /vendor application. The following outlines the event and what will be required of all accepted applicants.
ABOUT THE EVENT: This will be the 2nd annual food truck event in Shelby Township, MI. It is scheduled on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019. We plan to have a variety of trucks and other food vendors at the event.

SPACE ASSIGNMENTS: Acceptance into the event is based on the date of application, the diversity of mix of approved vendors, and payment. All applicants will receive a confirmation email indicating whether they have been approved to participate in the festival. Applicants will be notified via email of approval by April 20th, 2019 after the application deadline. Completing an application does not guarantee acceptance.
WAITLIST: As space is limited, we cannot guarantee a spot for everyone who is interested. We will book spaces on a first come, first served basis. Each vendor will receive an email response to their application, if they are accepted. Once spots are completely filled, all further applicants will be placed on a waitlist. These applicants will receive notification if a cancellation occurs and a spot becomes available to them.
PAYMENTS / FEES: There is an overall fee of $125 required in the participation of the rally. A deposit of $75 is due after approval of applications. The remaining $50 is due by June 28th, 2019, prior to the event. Cash, check, or money order are the only accepted forms of payment.
PROCEEDS: Food trucks and vendors will keep 100% of their proceeds for sales the day of the event.
SET-UP / HOURS / TEARDOWN: Food trucks and vendors may begin arriving as early as 12 PM on Wednesday, July 3rd. All set-up must be completed by no later than 2:30 PM. The event will begin at 3:00 PM. We expect the Food Truck Rally to be busy with eating, fun, and entertainment until the end of the night. All food trucks/vendors are required to remain open until the end of the event and are not permitted to leave early. There will be no teardown until 9:30 PM. Food trucks/vendors are encouraged to stay until the fireworks are over, but are permitted to leave before they start.
NOTE: The fireworks start at 10:00 PM and will last approximately 25 minutes. Leaving during the fireworks is not permitted.
POWER NEEDS / RESOURCES: All vendors must be self-sufficient and be able to operate independently. Electrical and water will not be provided. Food trucks and vendors must be able to provide their own generator, if needed. The Shelby Township DDA and Shelby Township are not responsible for a lack of power or power shortages.
CANCELLATION POLICY: Food trucks and vendors have approximately 15 days from the date of the notification of acceptance to cancel and receive a full refund of the $75 deposit and/or the $50 fee. Cancellation after this 15 day period will result in the forfeit of 100% of all application fees paid.
LICENSES / HEALTH DEPARTMENT: Food trucks and vendors are responsible for all required Macomb County Health Department licenses and compliance with regulations. All required licenses will be reviewed after the approval of application. Food safety is a primary concern. The Macomb County Health Inspector will be doing an inspection prior to the beginning of the event. INSURANCE: The food truck/vendor will be contacted to provide proof of automobile and product liability insurance after application approval.
TRASH: Please keep the area around your space clean. Do not throw away trash in areas that are designated to patrons, next to or behind your area. Trash containers provided are for attendees; do not stuff these containers with large boxes or other items. A dumpster will be available for use.
MENU: There is no guarantee that one vendor will be the sole vendor or the sole vendor of any food item. No alcoholic beverages can be sold out of your booth at any time. We may ask food trucks or vendors to provide a photo of menus after application submission. Photos may be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. If there any specialty or recommended menu items, please make sure to make them known as we may decide to limit menu size.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / GUIDELINES:
• Photographs will be taken during the event. It is understood that these photographs can or will be used in future advertising and promotions for the event or future events.
• Each food truck/vendor must have their own insurance.
• All local laws must be followed.
• Only vendors accepted into the rally are permitted to participate.
• Rude, obscene or abusive language and/or the threatening or actual physical restraint and/or abuse of any vendor, volunteer, staff, or public is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal.
• All prices must be posted at your food truck or vendor space.
• Food trucks and vendors must plan to be there for the entirety of the event.
• No food truck or vendor may produce or sell any merchandise, apparel or promotional items with the Shelby Township Food Truck logo, the Shelby Township logo or any related wording without prior consent.
AGREEMENT: Submission of application means that the food truck/vendor applicant has read and agrees to comply with all policies explained above. The applicant agrees not to hold the Township of Shelby or any staff/volunteers responsible for injury, property damage, or theft of any kind, nor will the applicant be a party to any kind of legal action against any of the above named. The Shelby Township DDA and Shelby Township make no representation as to the number of potential attendees and assumes no liability for any financial loss due to a vendor’s operation at the event.
