Community CPR Training

The Shelby Township Fire Department offers two CPR courses designed by the American Heart Association. They are:

 

  • Healthcare Provider
  • Heartsaver CPR


Healthcare Provider Course is held every other month (call for schedule) Course Fee is $55.00 per person.

 

Healthcare Provider Course Description

The Healthcare Provider Course is designed for the professional emergency care provider such as nurses and paramedics and those who wish to expand their skills beyond the Heartsaver CPR Course. This course will teach you the mechanics of one and two person CPR and obstructed airway in adults, children and infants. Automatic external defibrillating is covered for use on adults only. The Healthcare Provider Manual is required and may be purchased at time of class. A certificate is issued following an 84% passing grade for the required written and skills examination. The certificate is valid for two (2) years from the date of issue. The program length is approximately 4 - 6 hours.

Heartsaver CPR Course is held every other month (call for schedule) Course Fee is $45.00 per person.

 

Heartsaver CPR Course Description

Heartsaver CPR is intended for the lay responder, teachers, day care providers, and for persons whose employer requires basic CPR training. Heartsaver CPR will teach you the mechanics of cardio pulmonary resuscitation and treatment of an obstructed airway in adults, children and infants. A Heartsaver CPR Manual is required and may be purchased at time of class. A certificate is issued following an 84% passing grade for the required written and skills examination. The certificate is valid for two (2) years from the date of issue. The program length is approximately 4-6 hours.
