Summer Activities


All of the Shelby Township Parks and activities listed below are open from 8 am to 8 p.m. or Dusk, which ever falls first, unless otherwise noted. For activities where lights are available, facilities may be open longer. Dogs are allowed at all locations, but must be kept leashed no further than 6 feet. No liquor is allowed in the parks, but beer and wine is acceptable from June 16 to March 31. For more information on activities and hours of operations, contact the Parks & Recreation Department at 586-731-0300.

Skate Park
 -  Please be advised that the Skate Park is CLOSED for repairs as of today, Wednesday, November 22, 2017. We hope to have repairs done in the next 2-3 weeks.

Woodall Skate Park is a place where visitors can ride Woodall Skate Park
skateboards, BMX bikes, and in-line skates in a fenced in area complete with jumps, rails, and other apparatus.
The park was officially opened on July 1, 2003 and has remained a popular locale for skating enthusiasts of all ages.

Ages 10 & Under: 10 am to 11:30 am
All Ages: 11:30 am to 7:30 p.m.
BMX Bikes only: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday
All Ages: 10 am to 7:30 p.m.
Please be advised that the Park can CLOSE for inclement weather conditions or standing water.


Soccer

Community Center

Fields are contracted for use by the Parks & Recreation
Programs and local soccer leagues. The Parks & Recreation Department offers soccer for ages 3-8 years old.  These leagues are offered in the Spring, Summer, & Fall.

Fishing 

All persons fishing in Shelby Township must have a fishing
proper license. Patrons should refer to the DNR Rules and Regulations Fishing Booklet for license requirements. Fishing licenses may be purchased at most sporting goods stores as well as:

Pickleball

Pickleball is a combination of tennis, table tennis and pickleballbadminton, and is played on a court similar to a tennis court but smaller in size. Players use a paddle larger than a ping pong paddle and a ball similar to a wiffle ball.
