SHELBY TOWNSHIP POLICE DEPARTMENT
National Drug Take-Back Day -- April 28th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. -- Municipal Building Parking Lot
In conjunction with the 2018 Household Hazardous Waste Day, police officers will be on hand to accept non-controlled and controlled medications. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
Pills and Patches: Remove pills from bottles and blister packs and place in a clear plastic Zip lock bag. DO NOT BRING PILL BOTTLES TO THE HAZARDOUS WASTE EVENT.
Liquid Medications: Use a colored marker to block out all identifiable information from the bottle, such as your name and prescription number. Put bottles of liquid medication in a separate plastic Zip lock bag. These medications will be collected and destroyed by the hazardous waste company. DO NOT PUT LIQUID BOTTLES IN A PILL BAG.
Keep the bag(s) handy to give to a police officer at the collection site.
