Carry Concealed Weapon (CCW) 
New Applications - Application/information packets are available at the Records Bureau counter Monday through Thursday , 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (closed  from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Fridays and holidays).  The application is processed by the Macomb County Clerk's Office.
For your convenience, an informational stand is available in the lobby of the Police Department that contains CPL packages, Request for Records forms and instructions, etc.

Handgun(s) - Permit to Purchase
Hours:  Monday through Thursday - 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (CLOSED FROM 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.)
Driver's License or State of Michigan ID Card is required.  After issuance of a "Handgun Permit to Purchase" you are allowed ten (10) days from the date of issuance of your permit to purchase a handgun.  
Handgun(s) - Registrations
Once you purchase your firearm, you have ten (10) days from the date of the purchase to mail or deliver the MSP copy of the purchase permit form to the Shelby Township Police Records Bureau (please print legibly).  You are no longer required to bring the firearm to the Police Department for any inspection.
Important Note:  Prior to your visit to the Police Department, be certain that you contact the Police Records Bureau at (586) 731-2121 - Ext. 1, to determine and confirm ability to process your application(s).
General Fingerprinting (Non-CCW)
Hours:  Tuesdays - 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays - 9:00 a.m. to Noon at the front desk.
