BUILDING INSPECTOR

The Charter Township of Shelby, in Macomb County, is accepting applications for employment opportunities within our Building Department. The Township is seeking a full-time Building Inspector to perform site inspections and plan review of new and existing building structures within the Township and in accordance with Township ordinances and building codes. Qualified candidates for this position will possess a State of Michigan Registration as a Building Inspector and Plan Reviewer, a valid driver’s license, experience in the area of building and construction, and training focused in the areas of building and zoning. Preference will be given to those candidates holding multiple registrations (plumbing, electrical, mechanical) with the State. The salary range for this position is $ 53,277 – 61,238. The Township is also seeking to hire multiple part-time building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical inspectors to supplement our workforce during high activity time periods. Wages for these positions range from $7.44 to $14.02 per hour.
